Quick Fix Facials Mega Moisture Mask.

Another mask from my little trip to boots. This time I'm trying out Quick Fix Facials's Mega Moisture Mask for dry and thirsty skin. Since the weather is getting a bit warmer and my skin has been getting a bit more dry lately I thought I pick this up and give it a go. The pink tube did have a little to do with my choice. They really know how to get me lol.

I't comes in a 100ml tube which I love so handy and mess free unlike jars when your left with product stuck under your nails and only cost me €6.49.

It says it's for thirsty, parched, dry skin in need of some TLC. It also explains how it is packed full of ingredients to help your skin like:

  • Hyaluronic Acid, Which replaces moisture and helps provide deep hydration to skin.
  • Vitamin E, Full of antioxidants that will help keep skin in good condition.
  • Marine Collagen, a source of collagen which will help skin retain moisture and elasticity.

So far it all sounds good so here is how I got on. I applied the mask like the directions told me to. "Smooth a thick layer onto the skin and leave for 5-10 minutes to infuse skin with goodness. Remove with warm water or gently wipe away with a warm damp flannel or cloth."

I applied a thick layer all over my face and neck including under my eyes as they are so dry that I thought they could use the hydration. I checked and it said nowhere not to just not to have direct contact with an eye or both so... . Anyway I applied some to lips as well and just had to try remember not to lick my lips for 5 to 10 minutes. It felt like a thick moisturiser putting it on and it did dry in a little mainly to areas that seemed to really need it. I left it on for 10 minutes then washed it off with warm water and patted my skin dry with a dry, clean soft towel. That was it I was done.

Now or the results. I couldn't believe how great my skin felt and looked after this mask it's like how it would looks after using a really good moisturiser for a few day's and it feels so soft. My skin can be very flaky and can also feel sort of rough too but it's so soft now. I think this is one I should defiantly be adding to my routine and will be doing at least once a week. The tube says that you can get 10 facials out of it, I think I might not get that many as I will use it on my neck as well and my hands because it made such a difference to them.

After I put it on my face I rubbed a thick layer over the eczema on my hand which usually look dry, cracked and wrinkled which is mainly from scaring but after I washed it off they look plump and the redness has gone down even the cracked feeling and look has improved. It really shows the results better on my hand then anywhere else as they where noticeable dryness before hand. If your suffering from dry skin I recommend giving this a go and see if it helps as its a lot cheaper then some of the other products I've tried and felt crap after. Also don't forget to test it out first before using it to make sure you wont have a reaction to anything in it. It's always handy to try get into that habit.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Face Mask.

I really do love a good face mask these days and if it helps get rid of blackheads and has tea tree them I'm happy. I love the smell of tea tree. Apart from the pleasant smell ( for me ) the texture is nice as well, its not too thick and is creamy. It spreads on nicely but I did find I needed a bit more then I originally thought I would to cover my whole face or maybe I misjudged the size of my head lol.

It comes in a 50ml tube, which is great to bring on holidays too and was only €3.35 reduced from €4.79 which is always a nice surprise at the till. The tube is great to squeeze the mask out of.

This mask contains active charcoal which helps remove dirt, sebum and impurities deep in the pores. It also rebalances the oil to leave the skin clean and purified with a silky touch. It also contains tea tree and which I have mentioned already that is antibacterial. There is also witch hazel to help keep skin clear and healthy.

The directions say to apply an even layer and leave for 15 minutes then rinse it off. Also avoid the delicate eye area. I did as I was told the only thing I do differently is patch test it first before using it as I have so many reaction to things I don't like to take any chances with new products. I recommend doing this if you have dry, sensitive or easily irritated skin, it saves so much hassle in the long run like not walking around with a bright red face for the next couple of days. Spots are hard enough to cover let alone a red puffy face too. My patch test was fine so I went ahead and put on the mask.

My face mask selfie .

It was slightly tingly when drying but not the oh no my face is burning kind, the oh it must be working kind. When it dried it wasn't to dry and hard that I couldn't move my face altogether I could it was just a little harder and it didn't crumble off if I forgot it was on and laughed. Some parts dried a little lighter then the rest but its probaly down to being slightly thinner in that area. I washed it off with warm water and using a clean dry soft towel patted my skin dry. I looked really closely to see if there was any difference and around my nose and cheek areas which I would have the most blackheads I noticed it was slightly clearer. I know masks don't work miracles first time round so I'll keep it up too see how much clearer it gets. But for now it did make a little difference and my face was really soft and looked it too.

Think this ones a keeper.

Chocolate Biscuit Cake Recipe

This is my chocolate biscuit recipe that I have been using for years now. I played around with different flavours until I came up with this. All the biscuit cakes I have made over the last few years are this recipe. I have kept this one close and until now the only person I would share it with was my sister but I have decided  to share it on my blog as I like making these recipes and like to see when someone tries them out.

This is a really easy recipe and only takes 15 to 20 minutes to make then just stick it in the fridge. I like to make it at night time then leave it overnight in the fridge as I hate waiting around hours for it to set. It's very chocolatey and not something you can eat very much of trust me it's very heavy and a little bit is all you need to feel stuffed. It's the cake I get asked to make the most so it must make an impression lol.

I suggest you use 50% chocolate and noting lower if you want a strong chocolate flavour, milk chocolate is also fine but make sure you use good quality chocolate otherwise you might not get the results that you want. For something a little different you could also try this out with white chocolate. It's a little different to the biscuit cake we may be used to but it's always fun to try new thing out.

Happy baking,

Glam Glow Supermud

For so long I have been wanting this so bad but the price kept putting me off. This weekend I finally gave in. I went along to the RDS with my Mam and sisters to collect their goodie bags and numbers for the Women s Mini Marathon. While I was their I found the Meaghers Pharmacy stand and they where selling loads of Glam Glow products. I went straight for the supermud of course. I had a little chat with on of the women from Meaghers and she tested a little on my hand and told me to come back in about 20 mins to half an hour to see how I got on. I have reactions to a lot of products so I don't like to buy thing unless I know I can use them so she suggested I try it while I was there. A half an hour later my hand was fine, no burning or redness or any hives ( I get hives from so many things lol) so I headed back over a bought myself my first ever Glam Glow. It is a 34g tub and cost me €42.95 which is cheaper them usual, great timing. It works as sort of a vacuum on the skin to draw out impurity's like blackheads and oils and other things that nobody wants on their face. I suffer from acne and have huge horrible blackheads and pores that are always really big and hard to get rid of so for me that is what I'm always trying to fix or at least help.

Here I am with my super mud face, I know, I know very attractive lol.

It didn't take me long to try it. I stayed in last night and tried it out. I was so excited and even watched it drying like a little curious weirdo I put on a thin layer with a clean foundation brush like suggested yesterday. I took just under 20 minutes to dry but gave it the full 20 anyway. I definitely showed up my problem areas so now I know where to concentrate on next time and which areas I don't really need all that much on. When I washed it off my skin felt amazing. I knew it should feel great but really this was a lot more soft and healthy looking then I thought it would. Obviously it's not a use once and never have a spot again in your life product although wouldn't that be amazing, so I will be keeping it up as a regular thing and hope to watch my skin get better and better over time.

I always wanted to try it and I knew the price was high but I am happy I did now as someone pointed out I have spent a lot of money over the last while on skin products I didn't think worked and I will try anything to help my skin that doesn't involve taking antibiotics for six months again. I have needed to do that a few times now over the last few years and it never seems like a permanent solution So if your thinking of buying it and your not sure try find a sample of it or maybe even ask someone you know who uses it for a little bit to try.
